OUR LEADING VALUES

NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US.

We involve late-diagnosed autistic people, of all backgrounds, in every stage of development, including creative, educational, and advisory roles.

WE HONOR EVERY JOURNEY.

We recognize that autism can be experienced in many different ways, as identity, as challenge, as grief, as joy, as strength, and much more. This project affirms that all of those experiences are valid. We aim to empower and uplift late-diagnosed autistic individuals while also honoring the realities faced by those who struggle or who support others through higher support needs. We don’t aim to judge the experience of autism, but to hold space for healing, clarity, and the full depth of human experience across the spectrum.

WE HONOR INTERSECTIONALITY.

Race, disability, gender, class, and culture all shape how autism is experienced and understood. We are committed to creating resources that reflect those overlapping realities with care and nuance.

WE LISTEN, ADAPT, AND LEARN.

This is an evolving process. We welcome feedback from autistic individuals, families, and professionals around the world, and we commit to continuous reflection and growth.

WE PRIORITIZE ACCESS.

Access means more than availability, it means usability. We are committed to making WITS understandable, reachable, and relatable for as many people as possible. That includes translating materials, using plain language, providing content in multiple formats, and designing with varying levels of literacy, cognitive processing, and cultural context in mind. Everyone deserves to feel included in this story.

WE MOVE WITH HUMILITY.

We know we won’t get everything right the first time. We’re open to being held accountable and growing through collaboration, because this story is not just ours to tell.

WE CENTER DIGNITY OVER DIAGNOSIS.

We recognize that formal autism diagnoses can be life-changing, but they are not always accessible. Many people face financial, cultural, or systemic barriers to diagnosis and support. WITS affirms that every person deserves understanding and support, whether or not they have a formal diagnosis.
